a beach mini...

Today I decided to scrap a few of our pics from Maine while they were fresh in my mind! The Play Date line by Jenni Bowlin was perfect for my beach photos!
I used the Silver Damask rub on right on the Jenni Bowlin chipboard book cover, with a JB label sticker, JB beach journaling card and some new yellow JB butterfly stickers.

To keep it cohesive, I used lots of butterflies throughout and a beach journaling card on each page spread, along with a red, blue and yellow color scheme.

I have a ton of photos and can't wait to add more. What I love about these little minis is that there are lots of pages, so you can fit a bunch of pictures in one book (and it's a small space to fill, which is great for me - I'm not all that great with filling up large spaces).

Oh, and did you hear that Jenni Bowlin is working with Ranger to come out with stamp pads, paint daubers and inks that match her lines? Super cool. (photo from Jenni Bowlin's blog)

That's it for me today! Be sure to share the things you create with Jenni Bowlin products in their gallery!

summer, please don't end just yet...

I love summer. It's my favorite season. I have never been a beach/water person until we moved to New York and started going to Maine every summer. I can't get enough of it! Maybe we'll get a home there some day. It's so pretty there. Finally got around to posting some of our beach photos from our trip to Maine on Facebook if you want to take a peek.
I used a fun action on these 2 photos called Triqui Lomo, which I found here! It's a free download if you are interested. Hope you enjoy the pics,

nothing more comfortable than family...

Are you looking for a fun project to display in your home, or a gift to make for someone? Grab one of these kits and get an early start on your Christmas presents! I created this Family Printer's Tray kit for Right at Home Scrapbooking and it is now available. You get everything you see here, plus full directions on how to make it and patterns too! The printer's tray was a blast to alter. I used Pink Paislee's Queen Bee line along with Bo Bunny, Maya Road, Jenni Bowlin, Prima's burlap leaves and you get some gorgeous trims and pearls too.

When I create a home decor project, I always want to make things that I would actually hang in my home, therefore I love the elegant feel of this color combination! Would be really pretty with fall colored photos as well.
Visit the link HERE to purchase. You will see a button on the right of that page that says, "Add to Cart". Or feel free to call the store at 508-695-9290. You can send an email to r.scrapbooking@verizon.net with any questions.

fun with tickets and arrows...

Just some fun little cards made with the July kit at The Paper-Poppy!

The tickets in the kit reminded me of going to the movies, so I thought it would be cute to have a movie party in the fall/winter when the weather gets chilly! My daughter has a November birthday, and I'm always looking for indoor party ideas for her birthday. I printed the when and where on the patterned paper with my computer and then cut a rectangle shape for the card. Then I traced a 1/2 circle out of each side of the card to create the ticket. You could also make popcorn boxes with a template such as this one.
I loved the arrows in the Sassafras paper! They make a cute background for a "what's up?" card! I grouped some of the buttons and chipboard in the center for added detail. The small letters are little alphabet stamps from my stash. You could also use it for "growing up", "never give up", "lighten up your day", etc. To find different sayings and quotes for my cards, I use the internet quite a bit!

Thank you to the Paper-Poppy for letting me be a part of your fabulous kit club this month!

more Sweetness....

We are back from our short trip to Maine, had so much fun at the ocean. I will load some pictures to Facebook as soon as I pick out a few to share! I took WAY too many! Wanted to show you a few more things I made for Pink Paislee with the new lines....here are a few more cards made with the new Sweetness line!

This one features one of the new clear cards. I layered it over the beautiful paper and then punched a butterfly, added 2 Maya Road flowers and one of the new Sweetness Metal Badges in the center. Super quick.

The LOVE card below features the new Sweetness papers, stickers, canvas borders and rub ons (the word love). I actually peeled the stickiness off the back of the canvas border, then I roughed up the edges of the canvas with my fingers to make it look a bit more shabby, and tied it into a knot before wrapping it around the card.
The Be My Valentine card below features the new Sweetness Flip Notes (love the notebook border that already comes on them!), new stickers, rub ons (the word Valentine) and the new foam alphas.

Can you tell I totally love this line? I am pretty sure it's going to be my favorite this time around by Pink Paislee! Be sure to check out the PINK PAISLEE blog to see all kinds of new stuff and projects made by the team!

Sweetness sneak peek...

Here is a sample of the new Sweetness line by Pink Paislee! I love, love this line. It's right up my alley! On this card, I wanted to try and show all of the different papers from the 6x6 paper pad, so I cut 2" squares, rounded the corners on them and then stitched them all together in rows with my sewing machine, just randomly....to look like a warm, comfy quilt. Check out the yummy sticker in the middle and the FLAIR! So excited that Pink Paislee now has flair buttons!! They are super cute! (The 2 papers in the center are light pink and so, so pretty - sorry they didn't show up that well in my photo.) I love the new sticker letter font too. You get 2 colors of them on one sheet.
I have a lot more to share with you, so check back soon. We are headed to the ocean for a few days - decided to go at the last minute on a whim! :) If you are going to CHA, have fun...I'm so jealous! Say hello to the Pink Paislee gals for me.
XO,
Danielle

Hocus Pocus sneak peek...

Just a little sneak peek to the new Hocus Pocus line by Pink Paislee! Here you see the Hocus Pocus stickers (banners and stars), a Pink Paislee clear card (these are gorgeous!!) and a new rub on saying over the top! I really liked how this clear card looked over the white cardstock, so I used glue dots to attach it in the corners and then added the rub on saying over the top.

Stop over to see the whole line HERE!

Stay tuned for some Sweetness sneaks tomorrow, my favorite of them all!

Paper Crafts Magazine Presents: A Card Style Mystery Blog Hop

I am in love with the shabby chic style. There is something so warm and cozy about it...worn and comfy like a soft quilt, imperfect and casual, so welcoming.

I created this shabby card with a small oval embroidery hoop - painted shabby white and sanded, then attached to the front of the card. The little house is painted with a soft blue acrylic paint and sanded as well. The background paper reminded me of a quilt. (See below for supplies used.)

Supplies used: Fly a Kite - Ice Cream paper by October Afternoon, chipboard house by Riff Raff Designs, paint, resin photo corner and rub on saying by Melissa Frances, embroidery hoop from crafty supply,  flowers and star pin by Maya Road, seam binding by Zipperstop - sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I had a blast creating a few cards for the Card Style issue of Paper Crafts! I just received this issue the other day and it is so inspiring to see all of the different styles and loved how they were laid out, with so many examples of each. My favorite thing about this challenge was picking out all the goodies that inspire me....buttons, pins, tickets, rub ons, paint/ink, ribbons and adding stitching too.

What is YOUR style?

Please leave a comment here and on each of the 18 mystery blogs in the hop, plus a comment both at the Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs for 20 chances to win! These two blogs will show a portion of the prize package which is valued over $350. Three winners will be chosen.

All comments must be posted by Sunday, July 18. Winners will be announced on the Moxie Fab World and Paper Crafts Connection blogs on Tuesday, July 20.

Explore the possibilities...

I have some new Tattered Angels cards to share with you today! On this first card, I sprayed the chipboard with Silver Sugar and Graphite Glimmer Mists and then added some Diamond Dust over the top for extra sparkle. The bird chipboard was left plain (also by Tattered Angels!). I liked how the white bird looked with the other colors, so I left it white. Papers are Little Yellow Bicycle (background) and My Mind’s Eye- Lush (green/houndstooth).

Here I used a Maya Road envelope and dressed it up as a card. I used a Nature Glimmer Chip and sprayed it with Lemon Zest and Sunflower Glimmer Mists, then sanded when it was still wet to get this cool peeling effect. (Actually, it happened by accident, but I like how it looks!) The stamp below it is from the Nature Field Notes Stamp Set by Tattered Angels (saying and frame). Cameos are by Webster's Pages.

The ticket card is also a fun Maya Road envelope! I love finding unique things to turn into cards. The airplane transparency is from the Travel line by Tattered Angels and the stamped swirls are Nature Field Notes Stamp Set again. I used Watermark Ink to get a soft effect. Lastly, some blue paint splatters and a Melissa Frances rub on saying. Ticket is My Mind's Eye.

You could use any of the planes and trains in the set for boy birthday cards also!

I thought the travel line would be cute on a graduation card as I did here. The big compass transparency is from the Travel set by Tattered Angels, star pin is Maya Road, rub on is Melissa Frances and the yarn flower was made by me. :) I cut the card's corners off to make it look like a ticket or a tag. The little star is an old one from my stash by Li'l Davis, I believe. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Antique Linen to soften the edges of the card.

Thank you so much for visiting today! Be sure to stop back tomorrow, there will be something SUPER fun happening!

Paper Poppy kit club...

Each Tuesday in July, I'll be posting some goodies made with the Paper Poppy kit and this week we were challenged to use circles on a project! I ended up making two cards for the challenge....
I adore these little flowers that came in the kit, so easy to just peel and stick them! The little tag on the side was made by punching a circle with my punch and then cutting it in half. I punched a hole in it for tying on the ribbon.
To create the balloons on this card, I punched 3 large circles and then punched a heart out of each circle for a negative effect! Raising some of them up with pop dots shows off the negative punch a little better. You know how I feel about dimensional things! ;)

I embossed the background with the Cuttlebug machine, then drew the strings with pencil and stitched over the lines by hand before adhering the front of the card to the base.

The "Happy Day" sentiment is cut from one of the Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride journaling cards! (and the Airmail too)

PS. You may have wondered why I haven't been machine stitching on my projects? My new sewing maching and I are fighting right now. I will update when we are back on speaking terms!

Sending you wishes for a great day,
Danielle

We can go by camel if you wish...

Hi!
We made it back last night from our trip home to South Dakota to visit my family! It was a much needed vacation for all of us. I will have to share some pictures as soon as I get them off of my camera. But I wanted to pop in and share with you a page really quick.

I was asked to guest design for a kit club called the Paper Poppy Kit Co. and created this page with the sketch they provided! These kits are packed...and colorful...and so much fun!

My daughter's class went to the Bronx Zoo for their 4th grade field trip this year, and her and her friend got to go on a camel ride while we were there! The fun arrows and travel stuff in the kit made me think of these pictures of her. I was also inspired by a Dr. Suess book called, Marvin K. Mooney will you please go NOW!
I added some paint speckles to the background to add some extra dimension. Stop over to the Paper Poppy if you get a chance and check them out!
