Life is a whirlwind!

Life has been so hectic lately! We finally finished our tile floor in the kitchen and entry...it looks awesome, very bright and cheery in there now that the green linoleum is gone, thank goodness! I painted the entry a warm brown color called "Darby Creek" and have been painting our new trim and baseboard moldings white. I really like the contrast it gives to the room and am so happy to get rid of the green! I think the nuetral color will be great for adding accessories from the different seasons and then I can change them out whenever I want.. I love to change things often, can you tell? There is still soooo much work ahead of us, but it's coming along nicely!

I wanted to pop in and share a couple of cards from the next card kit available at Right At Home Scrapbooking! Such a pretty kit with gorgeous trims, felt and some of the new papers from Basic Grey. I hope you will check it out! The card kit comes with instructions/photos for 5 cards. Also stay tuned for a mini album kit from me coming soon!
My hubby and I just celebrated our 9th anniversary...I can't believe it's been 9 years! I decided to make him a card with a wallet sized photo that I printed out from our wedding day..he looks so young in this picture. And I'm not that skinny anymore. LOL After 2 kids, I don't think I'll ever be the same!

Papers, rub on saying, and architectural pieces are all from Melissa Frances. LOVE these resin pieces!!! The quote says, "to the world you may be somebody, but to somebody you may be the world". Not to sound all sappy, but even though we have our differences, he's such a great catch and compliments me in ways that I didn't know I needed. ha Definitely makes me the person I am today.
I appreciate you stopping by today! Thanks for all your nice comments!
Hugs! ~Danielle~

Love me some stamps!

Made a couple more things I thought I'd share today with the awesome Inque Boutique stamps that I received this month over at Create My Keepsake! I loved working with them and adding whatever papers we wanted with them. I found a new square punch at Michael's the other day, so I had to try it out on this card too. (think I need more!) Stamps are from the Inque Boutique See D's Birdies collection.
This is a little address book/notes holder I found at the dollar store (gotta love a bargain!). I dressed it up with some Jenni Bowlin die cuts, Prima - Morning Song papers, Melissa Frances chipboard and trim and more of the Birdies stamps from Inque Boutique! (click photos to see them larger)

Do you love to stitch? I am so into stitching on everything lately! I made this little pocket purse project for the Pink Paislee blog yesterday using some of their mini stamps and stitched right over the design! You can read more about it here at the Pink Paislee blog. My girls love it and were fighting over it, so I think I need to make another one quick! I really want to give this a try to add a design to a pair of jeans or one of Kati's little sweaters. How fun to make! Wouldn't it be sweet to personalize a baby onesie to add to a special gift basket for an expecting friend?

That's about it for today! Don't forget to check out the May card kit available at CMK right now! It's a great one if you have cards to create for upcoming birthdays. Have a sweet day and thanks for visiting me today! HUGS!

so much to blog about...

Do you ever feel like some days you don't have much to say.. and other days you have a lot to blog about? I feel like there has been sooo much going on here lately. We are still working on our kitchen floor, hopefully tonight will be the last night laying the tiles and then tomorrow we can start grouting. Hubby and I are doing it ourselves to save money, and it's going really well. It's really sort of rewarding to do such a big project on your home. Loving the outcome. It feels so much fresher and brighter in here already! I'm so anxious to get my house back in order though. I'm such a neat freak that it's really hard on me to have everything out of order! :) The good thing is that I haven't had to cook much...I'm not such a great cook. heehee (just ask my family, I'm sure they will agree)

Yesterday, Taylor had her palette expander put in her mouth before she gets her braces..that was quite an experience. Things like that really tug at my heart strings. I know it's going to be a wonderful outcome for her smile, but it sure is difficult seeing her go through these changes and hurting sometimes. She's still adjusting to how to eat with it in and talk too. I felt so bad yesterday when she didn't want to go back to school after getting it in. I hope she adjusts soon.

On a scrappy note, my May card kit is ready at Create My Keepsake! You can view the photos and information HERE! If you have birthday cards on your list to create, this kit is perfect!

Next, I am able to share this layout I did for Melissa Frances created with the Thankful line and some of their gorgeous stamps and chipboard flowers! I love this line so much. Just so shabby and beautiful and easy to create with! I didn't realize Melissa Frances had so many products!

Lastly, Inque Boutique is our sponsor this month at Create My Keepsake and I'm so loving the stamps we received! I used the little tree and house stamps from their See D's - Mini Memoirs collection to embellish my frame here. I stamped them on transparencies and added them to the front. Love this little photo of Kati...she will be three soon and I just can't believe it! Time just flies. I want my baby to stay little forever! (Another big tug at the 'ole heart strings lately!)

The stamp set from Inque Boutique used on this card is the See D's Birdies collection. I stamped the frame and cut out the middle to add the sentiment on the inside of the card so it shows through the front! Papers are Prima, Morning Song.

I'm so glad you stopped by today and wish you a very happy weekend! ~Hugs! Danielle~

it's all about the sneaks!

Today it's all about the sneak peeks, I guess...I don't have anything scrappy that I can quite share with you at this moment, but it's been a little while since I posted!

In two days (on the 15th for non-members) my next card kit will be available at Create My Keepsake...and it's a fun one! If you have birthday cards to make, you might want to check this one out. There are some really unique pieces in this kit, I think you will like it! =) If you still want to join and get a membership so you can get the kits before they sell out, you can visit here for a membership. I think there are only a few left. Instructions for 4 cards and photos will be included with each kit. Check out this CA-ute little chipboard tree from this month's card kit!

I also thought I'd share a few peeks of my newest Melissa Frances projects. I could create with these goodies all day and night..just adore them to bits. And they were so generous to send me a ton of stuff. Melissa Frances is going to be sponsering the Scrap Pink event for Better Homes and Gardens this year, so we've been busy, busy! Be sure to sign up for the BLOG give-away here!

I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day weekend. We had a wonderful day, the weather was perfect for a little picnic and some outdoor time with the family and in-laws. I've definitely been blessed with such a warm extended family and feel very fortunate that they've taken me in and treat me so well. My family is so far away and it's been tough being so far from them. Anyhow...thanks for visiting me today! Hugs and love! ~Danielle~

make art...

We love to create all kinds of art in our house...as the journaling says in this little layout that I made yesterday...crayons, markers and paper are staples in our household. lol Kati and I were coloring together yesterday like we do each day (she has been coloring ever since I can remember!), and I had an idea for this layout to incorporate the page we colored together. I've been wanting to do that for awhile now, so I'm happy to add it to her scrapbook. It was actually a very fast layout for me! All supplies except the blue letters that I added from my stash (by Making Memories) are from the April kit at Inspire Me Card Kits. The Fancy Pants "Chalk" rub ons reminded me of art, so they worked wonderfully.

This "Way to Go" card is mostly Crate Paper-Blue Hill also from the kit at Inspire Me Card Kits. Included was a Bazzill stitching template and I went crazy with this thing! These are so cool!

(Will be in Cards Magazine, Oct. 2008)

Lastly, here are a few cards I've been working on with my new Melissa Frances goodies!! YUMMY stuff, I tell ya, so fun to work with! Created a few things for the Halloween calls this time around. Everything on these cards are by Melissa Frances except the cardstock and twine! I'm totally amazed at how many products are available from Melissa Frances! If you have been looking for some of these items, there are 2 sites that I know of that carry some, Scrappy Gourmet and Create My Keepsake. The stamps are out of this world gorgeous! (as is everything else..lol)

(Will be in Paper Trends Magazine, Oct/Nov issue 2008.)

Just a quickie post this evening in between commercials while I'm watching AI! Gotta run and see who was voted off tonight...I'm hoping Jason, what do you all think? They are all so fabulous this year! Take care and thanks for stopping by! Hugs! ~Danielle~

love simply...

I've been working on two mini albums recently, and boy are they time consuming for me to get each page just right...but I have to say I LOVE doing them! One of them is for Melissa Frances, so I can't show you just yet, but I absolutely adore her products...they are so easy to work with..and gorgeous! Hopefully soon I'll be able to share that one; it's so neat, comes in it's own little box. Meanwhile, I have some projects to show you created from the April kit at Inspire Me Card Kits! The first 2 are cards and are mostly Fancy Pants "Simplicity" papers and die cuts. The kit also came with 2 Bazzill stitching templates that I used for the butterfly's antennae and for the swirl on the second card.

And last but not least...my Love Simply mini album. This is the second mini I've ever done! They are more fun that I thought they would be! These photos were taken the last week or two of my daughter, Taylor. Love these photos of her. I think I'll be scrapping them again. lol (click on photos to see them a bit larger)

Don't children just make you realize that the simple things in life are important? That's why I love them so. Seems as if life is much too complicated these days. Have a happy week!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy NSD everyone! Wohooo! If you are looking for some scrapbooking challenges today, I know of a couple of FUN places to hang out and win great prizes! I have a card challenge going at Create My Keepsake if you are interested! Visit here for the details... CARD challenge. Below is the card I created for the challenge. I used some awesome Pink Paislee stamps and floral paper from the Spring Fling collection and some of the new Sassafras Lass paper and stickers!
(click on photo to see it larger)

Here's the card I made for my NSD challenge at Prima Hybrid. My challenge is to use ribbon in a unique way...sounds easy enough, right? Come on over and enter for a chance to win $20 in Prima products! I decided to cut up the floral ribbons and fashion them into a rainbow and cloud for this card. You must use 75% Prima or Prima Hybrid on your card.

Everything here is Prima except the rub on which is Melissa Frances. Such a cute saying!

Hope you are getting to scrap today! I'm off to play some more! Have fun! ~Danielle~
